This piece is a digital colorization of a manga page from Tokyo Ghoul, created as a study in mood, lighting, and emotional intensity. Working from the original black-and-white artwork, I applied color to heighten contrast and psychological tension, using a limited palette of reds, blacks, and desaturated tones to reinforce the sceneβs sense of instability and transformation.
The coloring emphasizes facial expression, eye detail, and atmospheric shadows, allowing color to function as a narrative tool rather than a decorative layer. By selectively introducing saturated red against muted values, the piece draws attention to moments of internal conflict and heightened awareness within the panel.
This work was created as a personal fan project and colorization exercise. I do not own the original line art and am not affiliated with the creator or publisher of Tokyo Ghoul.
