This splash page illustration features two original characters set within a dark, nocturnal environment. The composition emphasizes atmosphere and mood, using deep shadows and subdued color to evoke a sense of intimacy and quiet tension. Romantic undertones emerge through gesture, proximity, and lighting rather than overt narrative, inviting the viewer into a moment suspended in time. The piece reflects my interest in character-driven storytelling and the use of mood as a narrative device within illustrative work.
